Frequency Loom Support

Version 2.2 · iPhone and iPad

Frequency Loom organizes acoustic commissioning work into Plan, Capture, Verify, and Package. Everything is local unless you deliberately export a file or open a Methodology link.

Create and Plan a Job

  1. Create a job and document the site, room, work order, operator, witness, and installed system.
  2. Open Edit Job to record the microphone, serial, interface, input channel, and any reference or calibrator check.
  3. Open Edit Plan to name listener areas, position points on the plan, set microphone heights, and choose the required runs per point.
  4. Review the project-authored acceptance criteria before capture.

Positions with recorded evidence cannot be removed, even after a run is voided. Voiding excludes that run from verification while preserving its position and audit trail. Add a new position when your measurement plan changes.

Capture a Witness Run

Select a planned position and identify the external stimulus. Pink noise, speech-shaped noise, program material, and external sweep are labels for sound played by the installed system or another source; Frequency Loom does not generate those signals. Use Ambient only for background capture.

Keep the microphone route and system state stable for at least five captured seconds. Finish and Seal records the derived values, quality result, input-chain snapshot, and SHA-256 evidence seal.

Quality Holds

A run remains visible but does not count toward verification when it is too short, has too few complete analysis frames, clips excessively, varies too much, changes route or sample rate, is interrupted, lacks required bands, or contains invalid data. Correct the field condition and capture a new run; void the held run if it should no longer remain active in the ledger.

Microphone Troubleshooting

Relative and Referenced Values

Without a documented field reference, results are relative dBFS and are suitable for controlled cross-position comparisons. A completed reference match or calibrator check creates a per-run calibration snapshot and allows referenced dB SPL labels. Editing the project's current input chain does not rewrite an earlier sealed run.

Verification and Integrity

Each criterion reports Pass, Fail, or Needs Evidence. A planned position is covered only after it meets its required accepted-run count. Voided, altered, failed-quality, and no-longer-planned runs are excluded. An integrity warning means stored content no longer matches a run's seal.

Export

Package creates a structured JSON evidence envelope, a spreadsheet-safe CSV ledger, or a readable text commissioning report through the system share sheet. If no share destination appears, verify that a compatible receiving app is installed.

Important: Frequency Loom is a commissioning evidence fieldbook, not a class-rated sound level meter or a certificate of IEC, ISO, ANSI, or AVIXA conformance.
